Tekirdağ and Marmara Ereğlisi: terminals and cargoes
The Tekirdağ coast, on the European side of the Sea of Marmara, has container and multipurpose terminals and the Marmara Ereğlisi energy terminals.
The main terminals
| Terminal | Where | Typical cargoes |
|---|---|---|
| Asyaport | Barbaros | Containers |
| Akport | Tekirdağ | Multipurpose: grain, general cargo, containers |
| Martaş and Ceyport | Marmara Ereğlisi / Tekirdağ | Multipurpose: dry bulk, general cargo |
| LNG and fuel terminals | Marmara Ereğlisi | LNG, petroleum products |
A rough guide only: most terminals handle more than what is listed, and the cargo mix changes with trade, markets and sanctions. Your agent will know what a berth is taking at the moment.
What arrives and what leaves
Containers move through Asyaport, grain and other bulk through the multipurpose ports, and gas and fuels through the Marmara Ereğlisi terminals.
Surveys on a typical call
Bulk calls need draft surveys, often with sampling. Containers bring damage surveys and lashing checks, and the fuel terminals quantity surveys. See the draft survey, grain and damage survey guides.
Practical notes
- The terminals stretch along about 50 km of coast. Name the terminal in your request.
